January 1
The status and condition of your property’s value for the tax year. Also, January 1 is the date that determines residency or ownership requirements to qualify for homestead exemption and senior citizen exemption.

January and February
Dates to apply for or renew homestead exemptions with the Property Appraisers Office.

March1
Filing deadline for homestead exemption and senior citizen exemption.

April 1
Deadline for filing tangible personal property tax return.

Mid-August
Truth in Millage, or TRIM, notices are mailed to property owners, TRIM notices contain your taxing authorities proposed property tax rates for the year, their budget hearing locations and times, and deadlines for filing petition with the Property Appraisal Adjustment Board.

November 1
Tax bills are mailed.
